Emissions Compliance Policy

At PSI Proformance Inc., we strictly adhere to all federal guidelines related to the sale and installation of aftermarket performance parts. We do not offer, under any circumstance, defeat devices, bypass modifications, or emissions-affecting changes to vehicles designated for street use unless we have reasonable evidence confirming the vehicle is strictly for competition use only.

These regulations are mandated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under the Clean Air Act of 1970 and its revisions, and apply nationally, regardless of local emissions testing requirements. Your location or local laws do not override these federal standards. Please do not request emissions-defeating services—we will not provide them.

We support motorsports and are proud to partner with industry leaders such as COBB Tuning, AMS, APR, Dinan, Weistec, Renntech, Ford Performance, DiabloSport, and others who have developed CARB EO-certified (California 50-state legal) solutions for performance upgrades. If you're interested in compliant engine modifications, we're happy to guide you to the right options for your vehicle.

Competition Use Only Parts

Parts labeled as "Competition Use Only" are not permitted for vehicles driven on public roads. These components are designed for race vehicles used exclusively in closed-course competition. They often replace or disable emission control systems and are strictly limited to track-use-only vehicles.

For any work categorized as racing or competition-only, we require the following documentation:

  • Proof that the vehicle was delivered by trailer
  • Photos showing removal/deactivation of headlights, turn signals, brake lights, etc.
  • Clear image of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
  • Evidence of non-DOT equipment such as tires, wheels, Lexan windows, roll cages
  • Proof of non-registration or “non-operational” registration status

This documentation, along with the parts invoice, will be securely retained in our records.

Legal Use Warning

These parts are legal only for off-road, competition vehicles as defined by California law (Calif. Health & Safety Code 39048). It is illegal to operate these vehicles on public roads. They must be trailered to events. Driving them on public highways—even briefly—may subject you to legal consequences.

It is your responsibility to comply with all federal and state laws. PSI Proformance Inc. disclaims liability for the misuse of competition-only parts and reserves the right to decline any service or sale if we believe it may lead to non-compliance with these regulations.
